Thoughts of today
Today is the seasonstart for my footballcarrier. It's not much but is a hobby. Can't sit at home the whole summer watching movies..... Yes I can but then i don't meet any of my friends.
I watched a episode of Pushing Daisies season 2 yesterday and it was quite good actually. A nun was pushed out from a belltower and the Piemaker and his friends was hired to investigate the crime. The episode had a few monents and with a cuple of hints the murderer was revealed. But my favorite cnaracter in that series is Oliver Snook. Shes the one that i been very fond of during the episodes.
I am writing this on my mobilephone on the train heading home after work. Walked from Pasila to Helsinki railwaystation listening to slashfilmcasts podcast episode 4. Now that is a great podcast that make me in a good mood.

Something short but not serious
It´s been a long time since my last blog so I thought it might be time for a short writing.
Well, what´s up then? Not much in the life of Fantastix. Went to Tallin with my school and that was a trip I would do again. It was very funny and I had a great time. (even though it was just women on the trip and I.) But it was fun being one of the girls. :D
Anyway. I bought the new Tolkien book The Legend of Sigurd and Gudrún and just hade got through the first 40 pages when I left it on the table. And that my friends was a BIG mistake because when I got home yesterday the Dog had chewed through the coverpaper and half through the hardcover too. MY NEW BOOK DESTROYED!!!!!
Can´t blame anyone else than me that I left it on the table. Should have know that this will happen. Can´t be mad at her anyway so why bother. It´s still readable though. And it´s not that great book anyway. I have read it in Swedish.
I had a terrible flue for a few days and that was a drag. But nothing bad that it does not bring some good things with it. I watched Father Ted the Complete Series DVD box and must say I just love that TV-series. It´s hillarious funny and I have been laughing my ass off watching Father Ted Crilly, Father Dougal McGuire, Father Jack Hackett and their housekeeper Mrs Doyle. The Writer of the Series Graham Lineham wen´t off writing series like Bit Train, Black Books, The IT-Crowd and a huge amount of other series. All of these series are in my opinion very funny too. At least Black Books and The IT-Crowd.
After this Series I have to take a look at the Tv-Serie The League of Gentlemen. I have no Idea of what it´s about but it looks quite funny.
I have just finnished reading the Bernhard Cornwells bookserie about Thomas of Hookton and his quest for the Holy Grail in 1300 France. It´s been a very good bookseries and I have enjoyed the reading a lot.
Other things is that on the 27.6 at 14.00 hour the Karis Bad Joke Festival starts in Pumpviken. That is a thing that have given me a lot of stress these latest days. There is so much that has to bee done so I don´t even know where to start.

Am I a man or what.
Sometimes I don´t feel like I´m a man at all. I´m not interested in ordinary stuff like cars, building houses, sports (exept soccer and icehockey), hunting and guns don´t looks like anything I would ever do. Guns frightens me and the meat I eat I like having from markets and so forth.
I like movies, computer games, science fiction, litterature, art (sometimes when I understand it), science, laying on the sofa doing nothing and so on. I don´t know why I write this but this morning on the train we started talking about these TV-programs about renovating houses and kitchens and everything.
It´s so wierd because everything seems so easy. They have all this machines and tools and everything and voilá there we have a new kitchen. Fuck.... When I try to do something it takes forever and I don´t have all this things to help me with. Fuck.. I don´t even have tape when I need it when starting painting and then all the stores is closed and I can´t get it. The only tape i got is duct tape and If I use that then I have to paint everything.
Why can´t there be a home-improvment program for men that are complete ignorant about constructions and so forth. Men that only have a screwdriver, hammer and a saw at home and they are rusty. A program that teaches us howe to paint our kitchen doors and so forth.
I don´t need any help with things like computers, building home theatres and electricity but with plumming, painting, sawing and God Knows What.
But most of all I wan´t men to know that I am not stupid I am just filled with useless information.
One other thing. During the weekend I watched a superb TV-series. I bought the IT-Crowd season one and two and that is just a really funny tv-series. Made me laughing and enjoying every second of the show. If everybody want to se a series about how it is working with computes then that i the series for You. Watch it and enjoy.

Christmas is almost done
It have been a terrific christmas and the rest of the week is going in the same way. Santa Claus (or joulupukki) as we call it here in Finland was nice and came with exellent gifts. Got a huge amount of DVD:s and books and that is just what I want. And a nice pyjama that I can wear laying on the sofa reading or watching movies. What else do you need to enjoy life.

I just finnished reading the magnificent comic by Jeff Smith called Bone. I borrowed from my son the Bone: One volume collection. That means 1300 pages of a very enjoying comic about a fantasyworld and the small Bone creatures. It is a commonly known story about three bone Creatures namen Fone Bone Phoney Bone and Smiley Bone that have been chased out of their hometome Bonewille and into a strange land of mystical creatures. When they are separated by a swarm of locusts, Fone Bone finds himself meeting Grandma Ben and her granddaughter Thorn who he immediately falls in love with. In the beginning the story is almost like a comedy that is very funny, with the story involved love triangles, cow races and all kind of schemes that don´t work out like they are supposed to do. But there are two antagonists who are in the story to make Thorn and Fone Bones lives miserable; The Hooded One and the Lord of the Locusts. They are searching for "The One Who Bears the Star".
The story is very similar to Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter but told with a warmt and depth that made me after reading it about 50-70 pages falling in love with all the characters. I had read a couple of these comics before but now reading the comics almost in one row the brilliance of the story reveals itselfs and become a fascinating story that I think i will return to.
Other things I should write about is that I have read the Max Brooks bok World War Z - An oral story of the Zombie war. And that too is a quite interresting book. Not a masterwork but a fun read and made me wonder what the movie is gonna look like. I read somewhere that they are planning a movie from the book. Hope they make it in the same manner as the book is written.
Now off to watch Wall-E.
Searching for “The One That Bears The Star,” these two antagonists are not only complex characters, but are actually threatening then Freddy Krueger and Jason combined. Just for added measure, the histories behind these two characters make Lord Voldemorts history look a little silly by comparison.

Game of Throne blir TV-serie
HBO har gett grönt ljus till produtionen av George R. R. Martins fabulösa fantasyserie A Song of Fire and Ice. Serien kommer att gå under titeln A Game of Thrones, efter första boken i serien. Martin har planerat att det skall komma ut sju böcker i serien och att varje bok kommer att vara en säsong. mmm. Intressant.
David Benioff (25th Hour, Troy), är en av producenterna i serien och tillsammans med D.B. Weiss (I Am Legend Prequel), säger de; “High fantasy has never been done on TV before and if anybody can do it, it’s HBO. They’ve taken tired genres and reinvented them — mobsters in The Sopranos and Westerns with Deadwood.”
När det övernaturliga och science fiction har fått en stor boom i TV-serier så är det mycket konstigt att inte fantasy blivit lika populärt. Om man ser på filmer som Sagan om ringen etc så borde det ju finnas underlag.
Den svenska texten för den första boken Kampen om järntronen har sådan här reklam:

Fantastix - filmnyheter
I have for a few days ago started a new blog called Fantastix Filmnytt. That is a blog where I post news about movienews that I find on the Internet and in magazines and newspapers and so on. At least it is news about movienews that I find interesting. Nothing else.
In the newest number of the Empire magazine there is a top 500 list of all the best movies of all times. There is a lot of very interesting movies in that list but then again a lot of movies that I don´t like at all.
But that´s not what I was about to write. It´s a complete different thing. I have been for a few months now studying business advertisning and so on. That´s a quite fun thing acutally. Reading about how to structure advertisning, marketing all kind of stuff and so on. Thats fun. The only thing I have problems about is that I am studying in finnish and all the lecutres is in finnish so I have to pay extra attentions in the class so that I can understand everything. But thats fun anyway.
There is a new number out of Blood Ceremony Magazine. And that issue is filled with articles about cannibals etc. I haven´t read the whole magazine yet but when I am done I have to write a rewiev of that issue. It´s just hillarious. Love it.
